MA SOUTH PLAYER MAKING WAVES

 MA SOUTH PLAYER MAKING WAVES

Seacoast United Sports Club has made a real conscious effort to empower its staff, players and families and use its platform to make a difference in people’s lives, both on and off the field. Nowhere is that more apparent than with Seacoast United’s newest club, MA South.

Brady Hanson, along with the rest of the MA South coaches, players and families, joined the organization in the summer but was already hard at work on an initiative for people suffering with Alopecia. While in 4th grade, Brady was being taught about Alopecia and how it affects millions of people, across the globe.

Immediately, after getting off the school bus, Brady told his parents that he wanted to grow his hair. He was so touched by the message passed on at school and wanted to make a difference in someone's life.

For almost 2 whole years Brady has set about his goal, until finally, just last week, he was able to donate enough hair to potentially create a wig for an individual in need.

"This has been a really worthwhile experience for me" stated Brady. "A few kids at school would make fun of me, until they realized exactly why I was doing it".

Even though he was born in 2009, he currently plays for Matt Robinson's 2008 boys, on the South Shore Midway thru the season, Brady was also invited to play with the 2009 RDL team, something that he was really excited about. "Joining Seacoast has been an unbelievable experience so far. Playing at the RDL level has been a challenge, but one that I am really enjoying.”

"These are the kind of things that Seacoast United is all about”. Commented Director of Community / Business Partnerships, Paul Turner. “We want to make a difference within our communities and Brady's gesture and commitment is outstanding. He is growing into a fine young soccer player, but more importantly, a fine young man!” Turner went on to say, “He also just got straight A's on his first middle school report card so his parents must be over the moon."

In addition to donating his hair, Brady has set up a fundraising effort, to help other people suffering with alopecia. If you'd like to donate, or have questions, please click on the following link: Brady Hanson - Fundraising Link.

COMMUNITY TIES IN ANDOVER

Andover, MA – Seacoast United MA North recently launched a brand-new initiative with Andover Youth Soccer (AYS). Since moving to Greater Lawrence Technical School in July, the club has been able to increase its presence in the surrounding community including working with the local soccer club out of Andover.

For the past couple of Saturdays, Seacoast United’s professional coaches have helped run training sessions. Due to COVID-19, the majority of town and recreational programs were forced to cancel or heavily modify their program offerings this fall due to the lack of facility access...
